Actor/comedian Martin started the 21st century off with a bang. He began his career performing stand-up at venues such as The Improv before moving into television, with an early acting role in What's Happening Now!!. He rose to major prominence after co-creating and starring in the hit Fox sitcom Martin, which established him as a leading figure in American comedy. 

His breakthrough came in starring and executive producing Big Momma's House, the story of an FBI agent posing as a corpulent Southern matriarch, which went on to gross more than 100 million dollars, despite universally negative reviews.
